How pretty is this little girl? She has the cutest lips and does this little pucker that makes them into a tiny rosebud shape, and such pretty eyes. This session was what is considered to be an “on-location studio session”  where we create a studio look at your own home. It requires a spot near a window with an area to work in that is about 8 feet by 8 feet (at least). I don’t do these kinds of sessions very often, but I am so happy with how it went!

Last weekend was our first Halloween mini-session event. I thought it was a lot of fun, even if participation was a little limited! (I’m thinking it was too early!) I was so happy to catch up with this family again, I did this sweet baby’s newborn photos and mom’s maternity pictures and the last time I saw this little guy he was only a few days old! He is such a happy baby and I think he is the cutest little pumpkin in the pumpkin patch! :)

I have been wanting to offer outdoor newborn sessions (for the warm months) and this daring couple was willing to offer up their baby girl as a “trial” run for my first attempt at doing a newborn session at the beach. I had a lot of worries going into this session, mostly about finding a private spot and also about the unpredictable wind. It turns out the spot I found was really great, but the wind was not on our side today. Live and learn!

She was such a sweet little doll, just six days old today. Thank you so much J&D for sharing your new sweetie with me and braving the elements of the beach.

And by the end it was just too windy to even attempt to reveal any skin, so we just kept her bundled up in her own blanket…she’s still cute! :)

My favorite beach spot is Seaside Park. But, I’m always looking for cute spots that have that great combination of privacy, good dune grass, and interesting elements (like wooden fences, wooden benches, rocks, etc). I like this new little spot I found in Normandy Beach! I love that I can manage to get the ocean in the dune grass picture. Check out my new weathered crates I just picked up….I think they will look great with fall sessions too!

A few more from last week’s session in Ocean City! (On a total side-note…did anyone ever notice the difference in sand among the Jersey Shore beaches? I never took the time to pay attention to this before or even to realize that there is a difference at all. I’m usually between Asbury Park and Seaside and the sand up here is like tiny rocks. The sand in Ocean City is so much finer. It feels softer to walk on, but the downside is that it sticks to you like crazy, almost like powder! I think I like the northern Jersey Shore sand better!) ;)
